Meeting
Of Rabbanim From The "Pikuach Nefesh" Rabbinic Committee And President
Katzav
"The
existence of the State of Israel is endangered by giving away land in
Yehuda-Shomron to the Palestinian Authority," said President of Israel,
Moshe Katzav to the director of Pikuach Nefesh, Rabbi Yosef Gerlitzky.
The
rabbanim, directors of the committee, met with the President last week
and showed him an album displaying their work, including the quote mentioned
above, which is printed in the album. The meeting took place in the President’s
office, where the rabbanim gave the President the psak din which
was signed by over 300 rabbanim in Eretz Yisroel and around the world,
declaring that giving away parts of Eretz Yisroel to murderers endangers the
lives of the millions of Jews living there.
The
rabbanim expressed their pleasure at the President’s election and hoped
that he would do all he can to influence the Israeli government to stay out of
dangerous agreements with our enemies. Among those who participated in the
meeting was Rabbi Meir Gutnick who is a great supporter of the work done by
Pikuach Nefesh. The meeting took place with an atmosphere of confidence in
Hashem as well as a demand that all concessions be stopped immediately.
